Modern warfare amid a shifting military balance

Gendai Daisenryaku 2017 presents a modern-war simulation that depicts a confused global situation with striking realism.

58 tense scenario maps

The scenarios portray the world after the Second World War, the largest war in human history. The United Nations, created around the victorious countries, is drawn into the great powers’ power games. The world divides between East and West, faces the danger of a Third World War, and sees new struggles over emerging countries’ resources.

National strategies shape a world caught up in a chilling power game. This PS4 edition includes the KS War, portraying a longstanding confrontation, and “J Country versus K Country!”, centered on the eastern and Far Eastern areas.

It combines the PS Vita and PS3 editions’ content into a series-record 58 scenario maps, including hypothetical scenarios that simulate past conflicts using contemporary equipment. This unprecedented volume is presented as the culmination of Gendai Daisenryaku 2017.

Approximately 700 types of weaponry

Since the Second World War shifted the battlefield’s leading role from people to weaponry, countries have continued developing tanks, fighters and Aegis-equipped ships with ever more advanced technology.

The lineup ranges from the veteran F-4 Phantom to the fifth-generation stealth F-22 Raptor, which the original promotional description presents as surpassing the supposedly unbeatable F-15 Eagle.

It also includes the Izumo escort ship, described at the time of release with its second ship newly entering service, the much-discussed Osprey transport aircraft and the F-35 stealth fighter with vertical takeoff and landing capability.

Approximately 700 types of weaponry span established equipment and machines intended to lead the next generation. These statements reproduce the game’s original promotional framing.

The series’ most immersive presentation

Visual maps depict the battlefield more clearly and colorfully, evolving from the series’ traditional hex-map screen to a more realistic, atmospheric presentation.

Battle scenes use 3D graphics to deliver the highest level of immersion yet in the Gendai Daisenryaku series. All of the roughly 700 weapon types engage in spectacular Real Fight combat sequences.
