PlayStation 4 Grand Kingdom

Gather, one million mercenaries

A tactical RPG set on a continent torn by war arrives on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. Lead your own mercenary company into a conflict in which four great nations vie for supremacy. Traverse vast fields rendered in beautiful 2D graphics, accumulate victories through a distinctive battle system that blends strategy and action, and achieve glorious results with the troops you have trained and take pride in.

At release, players could freely move between offline and online play at any time, choosing which experience to focus on. The destinies of the four great nations depended on the players' abilities.

Build your own mercenary company and enter battle

Grand Kingdom puts the mercenary company you create at the center of the game. Hire units from various classes with different skills to strengthen your squads, and take on offline scenarios and quests. The original online mode also let every player join a shared war.

A distinctive battle system combining strategy and action

Battles go beyond simply selecting commands. This unique system adds action elements to strategy: make use of classes with different characteristics, build formations that can also incorporate positioned battlefield devices, and link combos by using a wide range of skills. These elements come together to offer a new kind of battle.

Offline story quests

As a novice mercenary captain belonging to the guild, you complete a variety of requests sent by the different nations. Meanwhile, a shadow works behind the scenes of the war between the four great powers, and the story eventually develops into an incident involving the entire continent. The whole story is fully voiced, with an engaging cast bringing your adventures to life.

Original online war mode

In the original online mode, players across Japan entered the struggle between the four great nations with the mercenary companies they had trained. Their participation went beyond simply deploying troops: votes by players nationwide determined the next invasion targets and the development of weapons. Cross-play also brought PlayStation 4 and PS Vita players together on the same battlefield.

Online service status

The Japanese online servers were shut down on March 29, 2022. The online war and cross-play features described above are historical release features and are no longer available. The final war took place on March 27, 2022; March 28 allowed only its results to be viewed. Offline story content is the remaining focus of this edition.
