PlayStation 4 Hishou Same! Same! Same! - Toaplan Arcade Garage

Beast of the sea, race through the skies!

The Toaplan arcade revival project returns for its second installment: the Shark series!

Following the ultimate Tiger comes the ultimate Shark. Games from Toaplan, which helped sustain arcades in the 1980s, are revived through M2 Shot Triggers. This eighth entry in M2 Shot Triggers pairs faithful ports of Hishou Same and Same! Same! Same!, together with their overseas arcade releases and different arcade versions.

The long-awaited Flying Shark faithfully returns

Become the pilot of the Flying Shark biplane, nicknamed the Flying Shark, and reclaim the base occupied by the enemy army!

Hishou Same is a popular title thanks to its simple system, approachable difficulty, finely detailed graphics and presentation.

Go, Fire Shark! Your code name is Same! Same! Same!

The sequel to Hishou Same makes a major leap forward, with three spectacular shot types that cover the screen at maximum power, a broad variety of stages and bosses, and much more.

Its greatly increased difficulty throws down a challenge to experienced shooter players. The collection also includes the difficulty-adjusted two-player arcade version, giving fans another way to enjoy this notoriously demanding game.

Compare the Japanese and overseas arcade versions

Both games are faithfully ported with additional features. All their overseas arcade versions are included, along with the different Japanese arcade versions, allowing you to compare how each plays.

The base disc contains these six arcade versions:

• Hishou Same: Japanese arcade version.
• Flying Shark: overseas arcade version.
• Sky Shark: North American arcade version.
• Same! Same! Same!: Japanese arcade version.
• Same! Same! Same!: two-player arcade version.
• Fire Shark: overseas arcade version.

Extensive support for beginners and experienced players

Hishou Same and Same! Same! Same! both feature Super Easy mode and Arcade Challenge.

The Super Easy mode that proved so popular in Kyukyoku Tiger-Heli returns, answering players who say, “I like shoot 'em ups, but I'm not good at them,” or “I played Toaplan games long ago, but these days...”

Whether you once honed your skills in the arcades or are playing for the first time, Super Easy offers a reassuring way to enjoy the games.

Dedicated players can also use the intensive Arcade Challenge practice mode, selecting conditions and stages to train.

The familiar M2 Gadgets reveal hidden elements and internal game information, helping you develop strategies and understand what is happening beneath the surface.

Physical booklet

At release, first-production packaged copies included the customary M2 Shot Triggers booklet, a 32-page B5 publication.

This edition teamed up with Beep21, the legendary game magazine revived as a web magazine, to present BEEP! Same Flying, packed with interviews with the original arcade developers, strategies for the included games and special four-panel comics by Bkub Okawa.

The presence and condition of the booklet and other physical extras depend on the individual Used copy.
