Is your favourite idol a magical girl?

Taiga Nakamori is an idol fan who works at a curry restaurant in Akihabara. His favourites are Kemonomichi Girlish Square, an underground idol group based in Akiba. One day, he is determined to take these newcomers all the way to the Budokan. With that noble goal in mind, he spends fulfilling days supporting them alongside a small, elite—or so they would like to think—band of fellow fans.

One night, Taiga happens upon the girls rehearsing in Akiba. As he sneaks a look with a fan's curiosity, they become enveloped in light and transform in a glittering flash into their usual outfits. Mysterious magical creatures suddenly appear, floating in the air. Their stage outfits are actually magical-girl costumes: these idols are magical girls too!

Predictably, his spying is discovered. The magical creatures chase him around and almost kill him, but eventually explain their circumstances: “To save the magical world where we live, we need energy from humans. That is why these girls, who dream of becoming idols, are helping us.”

Unfortunately, Kemonomichi Girlish Square is still an idol group struggling to make its mark. Swept along with little chance to refuse, Taiga joins the group as both producer and manager.

So begins a chaotic story of magical-girl idols on the road to success—or at least that is the plan. With a lively roar, their adventure gets under way!
