PlayStation 4 Nobunaga's Ambition: Shinsei with Power-Up Kit

An even deeper bond between lord and retainers

The Nobunaga's Ambition series

Nobunaga's Ambition is a historical simulation series set in Japan's Sengoku period. Players can achieve the unification of the country that Oda Nobunaga was unable to complete before his ambitions were cut short.

Since the first Nobunaga's Ambition was released in 1983, this long-running historical simulation series has continued to evolve through successive versions with the support of players around the world. Worldwide shipments surpassed ten million copies in 2018, and the series reached its fortieth anniversary on March 30, 2023.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Shinsei receives a substantial power-up

The sixteenth entry in the series, Nobunaga's Ambition: Shinsei, has been enjoyed and acclaimed by many players for offering a more realistic experience of being a Sengoku daimyo than ever before.

Your retainers support you as “living officers” who think and act for themselves. As the daimyo, you make decisions about appointing lords, responding to your retainers' proposals, and issuing policies that have powerful effects across your entire faction.

An even deeper bond between lord and retainers, and a more realistic Sengoku experience

In Nobunaga's Ambition: Shinsei, retainers develop the fiefs you grant them on their own initiative. When war comes, they lead their soldiers to join you. As truly “living officers,” they pursue the unification of Japan alongside the player.

The Power-Up Kit develops this experience of lord and retainers working together even further. You can now appoint officers to a council: a chief retainer who changes the overall tendencies of your faction, and magistrates who influence policies.

You can also engage in direct talks, persuading an officer who is about to leave to stay, or negotiating the terms for recruiting an officer from elsewhere. Enjoy political bargaining worthy of the turbulent Sengoku era.

A first for the series: every castle has its own map for large-scale, heated sieges

The Power-Up Kit brings the series' popular siege battles back in a form unlike anything seen before.

For the first time in the series, the terrain of the single world map forms the basis for unique, dedicated siege maps encompassing both a castle and its castle town. Enjoy dynamic sieges that go beyond capturing the castle itself.

As the attacker, decide where to break through and which route to take toward the castle. As the defender, decide where to position defensive facilities and how to meet the assault.

The struggle to attack and defend castles becomes even more intense, and the outcome can change dramatically according to the player's command decisions.

Additional scenarios, events, traits and an overwhelming volume of expanded content

The Power-Up Kit greatly expands the volume of scenarios, events, policies, officers and officer traits.

You can also enjoy the expansion features that have proved popular throughout the series, including editing officers' statistics, background music and scenarios, and creating new factions.
