PlayStation 4 REYNATIS – Liberation Box

Two lives meet in Shibuya

Tokyo, Shibuya. When two people with different positions meet, a darkness that will transform the world arrives.

Story

In this world, some people can use magic and others cannot. Magic users are a minority, regarded with fear and seen as dangerous by ordinary people. They are forced to conceal their identities and live quietly in the shadows.

Tokyo, Shibuya, 2024. Under the law governing magical countermeasures, residents have been asked to refrain from going out at night. Yet the request has already become an empty formality, and few people observe it.

Marin Kirizumi has lived an oppressed life because he is a magic user. “If you become the strongest, you will be liberated.” Relying on these words left by his father, he arrives in Shibuya at night in search of freedom.

When Sari Nishijima awakened to magic, she resolved to use her power to uphold order. She enforces her own justice to protect Shibuya from illegal drugs that turn people into monsters and from groups with dangerous ideologies.

Marin seeks liberation for his heart. Sari regards the suppression of magic users as justice. When these two meet in Shibuya, where every kind of belief and culture intersects, the story begins to unfold.

Suppression and Liberation

Switch between Suppression Mode and Liberation Mode with a single button during battle. These contrasting modes make stylish action accessible to everyone.

In Suppression Mode, you cannot attack at all, but a single button lets you elegantly evade any enemy attack. In Liberation Mode, you can unleash attacks on your opponents all at once, but you are left defenceless. Choosing the right moment to switch is therefore essential.

Explore Shibuya and another world

The real city of Shibuya is faithfully recreated. Numerous landmark areas appear, including the Scramble Crossing, Center-gai, Miyashita Park, Dogenzaka and Spain-zaka.

Walk through the city to discover famous shops such as Shibuya 109, as well as long-established favourites known to those in the know.

Beyond the Fog, entrances to another world drifting through the city, lies a realm filled with magical power: Another. As well as fields such as forests and wastelands, it contains places resembling factories and museums, but its deepest reaches remain shrouded in mystery.

An ensemble drama seen through two protagonists

Marin Kirizumi heads for the deepest part of Another in pursuit of ultimate power. Sari Nishijima acts to protect public order in Shibuya.

As their stories advance in alternation, a third force, the Guild, emerges. See for yourself where the story leads for those who live in darkness while seeking the light.
