Samurai Warriors 4 Empires brings together the strategy of a territorial conquest simulation and the exhilarating action of the Warriors series. This new instalment in the Empires series arrived roughly four years after its predecessor.

In this Empires, every officer takes centre stage. Your castle, populated by warriors of the Sengoku period, is represented in 3D. Putting the right people in the right positions and making the most of their abilities becomes the key to success, allowing you to carry out political strategy intuitively.

The Supply Line Battle system, popular with players, returns. Officer Dramas focus on the warriors' relationships, including feuds rooted in history. With Samurai Warriors' action intact, strategy and human drama come together in the ultimate struggle to conquer the nation.

Intuitive, substantial domestic administration that brings out your officers' strengths

In the strategy phase, you appoint subordinate officers as magistrates responsible for areas such as development and military preparations. Progress comes from adopting the varied proposals made by individual officers. You can also select commands manually.

For the first time in the series, the strategy screen presents your castle in 3D, showing officers carrying out their duties and communicating with their colleagues. Enjoy substantial domestic administration through an intuitive presentation.

Supply Line Battles and individual policies for every officer return

The Supply Line Battle system acclaimed in Samurai Warriors 2 Empires returns: capture bases connected by supply lines to push your front line forward.

Individual policy settings for every officer, another feature frequently requested by players, are also available. Set battle policies for all allied officers and approach each battlefield with greater strategic depth.

Officers you bring into battle become controllable as your friendship with them grows. You can switch between up to eight officers during a battle, creating a strong sense of fighting together.

Your choices set the officers' dramas in motion

A wide variety of dramas unfolds around the officers' relationships. Alongside events based on history and anecdotes, the way you play can develop relationships that never existed in history.

Friendships and rivalries between allies, as well as feuds with enemy officers, form human dramas woven throughout play as events during political strategy and missions during battle. Your choices and your success or failure in missions have a substantial influence on how the game progresses.

Events based on history and anecdotes are provided, in principle, for every unique Warriors officer. Enjoy variations reflecting each officer's personality—for example, what if Mitsuhide Akechi were to compose the famous cuckoo poem?

Created and generic officers play a much larger role

In addition to the player-created officers familiar from the Empires series, more than 100 generic officers receive distinctive appearances. These include famous warriors from across Japan who have not become unique Warriors characters.

Another first for the series is the appearance of more than 100 female officers and princesses who helped shape the Sengoku period.

All of these officers appear in Officer Dramas, making the search for new recruits even more enjoyable.
