A new story from the warriors' perspectives

Stories not told in Samurai Warriors 4, whose narrative focused on regions and factions, are reborn as a new Story Mode from the characters' own perspectives. Individual stories centre on warriors newly introduced in Samurai Warriors 4 and other popular characters. These newly woven dramas of the Sengoku period reveal previously unknown sides of the warriors.

Naomasa Ii joins the playable cast

Naomasa Ii, long awaited by series fans, appears as a new playable character. His story follows him into battle with the conviction that he must always do his best, growing into a brave warrior to rival Tadakatsu Honda, the guardian of the Tokugawa. Through the support of his adoptive mother Naotora Ii and battles against his rival Toyohisa Shimazu, discover the life of the Tokugawa's rising red star.

The renewed castle challenge

The castle mode acclaimed in Samurai Warriors and Samurai Warriors 2 returns with a substantial renewal. Alongside the familiar challenge of climbing higher floors while completing each stage's missions, new challenges offer entertainment in shorter sessions. Test your limits while deciding whether to climb higher in search of greater rewards or escape safely with the rewards already earned.

More tactical battlefield action

The series' exhilarating action, in which a single warrior sweeps through crowds of enemies, becomes more tactical. Morale matters more, with reinforced areas blocking Hyper Attacks. Additional soldier behaviour patterns and stronger warrior algorithms expand the tactical exchanges on the battlefield.

The warriors' conversation events also receive greatly enhanced presentation through backgrounds, camera work and effects, portraying their emotions and ways of life in greater depth.

A renewed progression system

Warriors grow stronger by acquiring skills and weapons with varied elements, rarity levels and parameters. Weapons can now be combined with weapons, and warhorses with warhorses, adding the enjoyment of strengthening them to the pleasure of collecting them. Take time to develop your favourite warriors and enjoy the depth of their progression.

Cross-save support

The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions support cross-save through the network. Cross-play is not supported.

TREASURE BOX edition

The original release included an original clock with a photo frame, 56 Samurai Warriors 4-II character cards for the frame, and an original soundtrack CD, alongside the game. This describes the original edition; completeness and accessories depend on the individual Used copy.
