A new frontier for Samurai Warriors: Yukimura’s 48 years

The Samurai Warriors series is a tactical action game set during the Sengoku period. Control its many warriors and experience the exhilaration of mowing down hordes of enemies in one-against-a-thousand combat.

Released during the “Sanada Year,” when the historical television drama Sanadamaru heightened interest in the family, this game takes a new approach for the series: it focuses on one warrior and depicts the entire 48-year life of Sanada Yukimura, celebrated as Japan’s finest soldier.

It is made for longtime Samurai Warriors players and for people whose interest in Sengoku games began with the television drama.

A sweeping story covering an entire life

One of the series’ most popular warriors, Yukimura is explored in depth through a single grand story. It begins in his father Masayuki’s era, follows Yukimura’s birth and the aspirations he finds by watching his father, and continues through all 48 years to his heroic end at the Siege of Osaka.

Yukimura and other characters change in appearance as they grow, bringing dramatic force to the story.

New castle towns

The story progresses from a castle town suited to each era. Meet townspeople, train and prepare for coming battles. Experience the warriors’ daily lives and the events leading up to combat, aspects not previously shown in the Samurai Warriors series.

The available towns increase as the story advances, including Sanada’s main castle, Ueda Castle and Osaka Castle. Changes in the towns bring new events and facilities.

Multistage battles on a larger scale

Long campaigns consist of several battlefields and scenarios. Preliminary engagements, such as battles for branch castles that lead toward the final clash, connect these stages to create a larger sense of scale.

Morning turns to night in real time during combat, and your achievements can influence the situation on other battlefields. These and other new approaches enrich the battle scenes.

The game also covers other battles fought at the same time as those involving Yukimura and the Sanada family. Play these engagements with familiar Samurai Warriors characters.

Sanada Masayuki finally appears

Yukimura’s father, Sanada Masayuki, long requested by players, joins other new characters. Many established warriors connected with the story also appear, portraying Yukimura’s way of life in greater depth.

A fully 3D nationwide map supervised by Kou Shibusawa

The company’s general producer Kou Shibusawa participated in the television drama Sanadamaru as its 3D map supervisor. That map also appears in this game, supervised by him in the same way as the map used in the drama.

Original Treasure Box contents

The original Treasure Box includes the PlayStation 4 game, the Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada Artworks book and an original soundtrack CD.

It also includes a special set of six acrylic coasters styled after the Sanada family’s Rokumonsen, or Six Coins, emblem, with a dedicated case.
