Summer Time Rendering, created by Yasuki Tanaka, is a popular comic serialized on the Shonen Jump+ manga app. At the time of this game's original announcement, it had accumulated 150 million views.

This time-loop science-fiction suspense story takes place on Hitogashima, an island modeled on the real island of Tomogashima in Wakayama City.

Every detail becomes a clue as the mystery-solving and battles intensify. The story was adapted into a television anime across two consecutive broadcast seasons from April to September 2022.

Story

Shinpei Ajiro returns to his hometown of Hitogashima for the first time in two years to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Ushio Kofune.

As he reunites with Ushio's younger sister Mio and his familiar friend Sou, he learns about the inexplicable circumstances of Ushio's death and the island's old legend of the “Shadow sickness.”

The legend says that anyone who sees a Shadow with their own appearance will die.

And Ushio is said to have seen that Shadow.

The shadow of death follows Shinpei and his friends. Before long, a day of despair will come to Hitogashima.

“How can I save my friends, protect everyone on the island, and avoid death...?”

To avert despair, Shinpei must constantly think and choose. Yet every choice may be nothing more than an entrance to new despair.

Even so, he cannot stop thinking or making choices.

He must get beyond those three days of despair...

A time-loop adventure based on the popular television anime

Summer Time Rendering becomes a time-loop adventure game!

Alongside the main story recreating the television anime, the game includes six original stories supervised by the editorial department, as well as original endings.

Only this game lets you experience these previously unseen stories and endings.

A new character designed by Yasuki Tanaka

Original creator Yasuki Tanaka has designed a new character for the game: Kaori Koyuba, voiced by Yui Ogura.

How will the story change when this idol arrives on the island...?

Only the player will learn the answer.

Unique adventure systems bring the story's mechanisms to life

To recreate Summer Time Rendering's ingenious narrative mechanisms, the game uses original adventure systems such as TIPS Branching, where obtaining information opens more choices, and Action Branching, where crucial decisions must be made within a time limit.

These systems let you experience the story's distinctive mechanisms to the fullest.

The graphics incorporate a large number of images from the television anime, delivering visuals that feel like the anime itself.

Two branching systems reveal the workings of the story

Information collected through conversations—TIPS—opens new branches.

The many TIPS cover a wide range of information, including background details about the setting and clues to solving the incidents' mysteries.

Action Branching appears mainly in battle scenes. Choose among three actions: use the L button, use the R button, or do nothing and let the moment pass.

Limited Edition physical contents

The original illustrated special box contains the official strategy guide, Summer Time Rendering: Another Horizon Secret Book, and the game original soundtrack CD.

The substantial 64-page Secret Book contains game walkthrough articles, character settings, an event CG collection, an introduction to TIPS, and design-setting images for Kaori Koyuba, the original character designed by Yasuki Tanaka.

The soundtrack includes all background music used in the game, the opening theme “Touka” in its game-size version performed by Asaka, and the ending theme “Sakaime Darake” in its game-size version performed by cadode.

Original physical preorder bonus

The original early-reservation campaign, which ended, offered one randomly selected game-original illustrated mini shikishi from five designs for reservations made by November 15.

The five designs featured Ushio Kofune in a swimsuit, Mio Kofune in casual clothes, Shadow Mio in a school uniform with a kitchen knife, Hizuru Minakata in a ponytail version, and Kaori Koyuba in her usual clothes.
