PlayStation 4 Zero Fire - Toaplan Arcade Garage

A sky-scorching legend is told again

The third installment of the Toaplan arcade revival project goes horizontal!

Toaplan's games, which helped sustain the arcades of the 1980s, return through M2 Shot Triggers.

This third release pairs complete arcade ports of the horizontal-scrolling shooters Zero Wing and Hellfire, along with different arcade versions and overseas releases.

Two horizontal shooters return with complete ports and more

Zero Wing and Hellfire, which appeared in arcades in the 1980s, each include versions for alternating one- and two-player play and for simultaneous two-player play, with different game balance.

Overseas versions can also be played. Capture enemies with Zero Wing's Prisoner Beam and master switching attack directions in Hellfire.

Capture enemies with the Prisoner Beam in Zero Wing

All superdimensional ZIG-01 space fighters, launch! Annihilate the space pirates CATS and restore peace to the galaxy!

Power up three kinds of shot and your options. Use the Prisoner Beam to capture enemies and bombers, then throw them to destroy your targets.

Fire shots in every direction in Hellfire

Pilot the Hellfire space battle machine and recapture six planets invaded by the hyper-mechanized Guild empire!

Toaplan's first horizontal-scrolling strategic shooter also offers striking graphics with a distinctive setting and rock-inspired background music.

Additional content in the original release

The original physical release was offered with the digital edition's content and the additional-content package. That package contains numerous contemporary home-console ports of Zero Wing and Hellfire, including different and overseas versions.

It also presents the horizontal-scrolling action game Horror Story as a bonus title outside the shooting-game pair, with different and overseas versions.

Those additional-content items are described here as part of the original release; their availability with this Used copy is not guaranteed.

Shoot, jump and stomp in Horror Story

Defeat the monsters and make for the demon's castle. Restore peace to the parallel world!

This horizontal-scrolling action shooter challenges you to overcome varied enemies and stages using five types of shot and jumping.

The series' familiar puzzle extra

The falling-block puzzle game Teki-Paki also accompanies the Toaplan Arcade Garage release.

Aim to clear a full loop with extensive support features

Zero Wing and Hellfire include Super Easy Mode, a familiar feature of the Toaplan revival series that is welcoming to newcomers. Difficulty changes according to your skill level, allowing you to enjoy the games casually.

Once you are familiar with the games and want to clear one full loop of the arcade version, challenge yourself in the intensive practice mode Arcade Challenge.

M2 Gadgets make hidden elements easy to understand. They reveal previously mysterious conditions for extra-life items to appear and clearly show stage progress, helping you plan your way through the games.
