Reading Museum: Ikebukuro Night Owl Tales 2 Blu-ray
READING MUSEUM 池袋ナイトアウルテールズ2
Reading Museum, the staged-reading project led by voice actor Daisuke Namikawa as its museum director, returns for its fourth production with a sequel to its first story, Ikebukuro Night Owl Tales. Rising writers and an accomplished voice cast weave distinctive tales in a series acclaimed for its storytelling.
Namikawa plays the mysterious master of Bar Night Owl. The customers and newly employed bartender are portrayed by different combinations of actors at each performance, changing not only the cast but also the characters’ personalities, relationships and the course of the story. Enjoy four curious tales that are more than simply frightening, each unfolding along a slightly different world line.
In a corner of Ikebukuro stands the suspiciously atmospheric Bar Night Owl, an unusual gathering place for customers who know the neighbourhood’s frightening and mysterious stories. Sometimes called a blind spot of the gods, it is where tales are told of a woman who always stares at the same point, a figurine that returns to its owner however many times it is sold, and the meeting of two customers, Narumi and Machidori, brought together by mysterious fate. Tonight, more uncanny episodes from Ikebukuro are shared, to the delight of the bar’s master, who enjoys listening to his guests’ ghost stories.
This release brings together the afternoon and evening performances of July 24 and 25, 2021, together with their after-talks. A wraparound obi and special Bar Night Owl coaster are available only in remaining first-press copies and are not guaranteed.
