Resident Evil: Death Island Special Price Blu-ray

Resident Evil: Death Island Special Price Blu-ray reunites Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield and Rebecca Chambers for a mission on Alcatraz. The CG-animated feature brings the five familiar characters together as separate investigations reveal a shared source of infection and a trap waiting on the former prison island.

Leon is pursuing the armed group that has abducted Antonio Taylor, a man holding confidential information, when a mysterious woman blocks his pursuit. Elsewhere, Chris, Jill and BSAA adviser Rebecca investigate unexplained zombie outbreaks around San Francisco. With assistance from Claire's TerraSave organisation, they discover that every victim visited Alcatraz. Their journey to the island places the team directly in the path of the people behind the outbreak.

Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and written by Makoto Fukami, the film combines Capcom's characters with CG production by Quebico and production by TMS Entertainment. Rei Kondoh supplies the music. Matthew Mercer, Kevin Dorman, Nicole Tompkins, Stephanie Panisello and Erin Cahill voice the five leads in English, with Tomoyuki Morikawa, Hiroki Tochi, Atsuko Yuya, Yuko Kaida and Ami Koshimizu in the Japanese cast.

Alongside the approximately 90-minute feature, the disc includes a making-of featurette, three trailers and a television spot. A commentary brings together Hasumi, Fukami and Capcom game producer Masachika Kawata to discuss the film.

This region-free special-price edition presents the scope-format animation in 1080p. English and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround tracks are accompanied by English and Japanese subtitle options; the creators' commentary is in Japanese.
