Riding a Unicorn Blu-ray Box

An adult coming-of-age story about pursuing dreams with sincerity in both work and love. One day, an older office worker transfers into an educational start-up led by a young female CEO, bringing an atmosphere completely unlike that of the company.

Sana Narikawa finds it difficult to depend on others or ask for help. Even when she has worries, she tends to endure them alone. She is not skilled enough to balance work and romance, and inevitably puts work first. Her honest, determined approach to both life and love makes her a relatable modern working heroine.

Her older subordinate initially struggles to get along with her, but gradually supports her in different situations as they influence one another. Meanwhile, the business partner who has shared her joys and hardships is a gifted engineer whose awkwardness in romance leaves him conflicted over his longstanding feelings for Sana.

This refreshing story is filled with dreams and moments that make the heart flutter, cheering on everyone who wants to try something new.

Sana is the CEO of Dream Pony, a company developing educational apps. Five years earlier, she slipped into a university and heard a special lecture by Sachi Haneda. Inspired by that experience, she founded her own company three years ago.

She works every day toward turning Dream Pony into a unicorn company within ten years and building a business that people around the world can use. Yet she is growing anxious as both sales and technological development stall.

Co-founder Ko Suzaki worries about Sana. They met at the university she sneaked into and have since become trusted business partners. Hoping to change their situation, Ko suggests recruiting someone who can contribute immediately. They advertise online and arrange interviews.

One of the applicants is a middle-aged office worker named Satoshi Kotori. He is roughly a generation older and has no programming experience, making him an unlikely immediate asset. Nevertheless, Sana cannot forget his words: “I came here because I deeply share your company’s belief in creating a place where everyone can learn equally through the power of IT.”

A unicorn company is a privately held venture founded within the previous ten years and valued at one billion dollars or more. The source explains this as 110 billion yen at an illustrative exchange rate of 110 yen to the dollar.

The box includes a booklet and a transparent Dream Pony logo sticker. Video extras offer complete versions of special programmes, a documentary, behind-the-scenes footage, camera segments, a game, wrap-up footage and promotional spots. Specifications may change.
