Odd Taxi TV Series

A new mystery drama is born from the world of Odd Taxi. RoOT / Route of Odd Taxi develops an original drama story based on the struggles of a young detective duo in the manga serialised in Big Comics Superior Dalpana.

After expanding into film, theatre and comics and winning fans in Japan and overseas, the world of Odd Taxi now opens a new chapter as a live-action drama.

Something is strange about this town. A senior detective with no charm teams up with an upbeat rookie plagued by bad luck. Once you step into this ensemble human mystery, there is no way out.

Reina works at a detective agency and is saddled with Sato, a hapless new recruit with no experience, for a dull investigation into an affair. Just when their work seems to be going well, a thug known as Dobu steals the evidence they worked so hard to obtain.

The two are disheartened, but the proprietress of a small restaurant who helped them asks them to uncover the mysterious private life of a taxi driver named Odokawa. Seeing a chance to redeem themselves, they set to work.

Before they know it, their investigation into Odokawa draws them into the disappearance of a high-school girl. A yakuza who controls the town, a university student desperate to go viral, an easygoing nightclub worker, an underworld fixer and underground idols become entangled in a complex web with the people around them.

Bonus footage includes a making-of film, trailers, promotional clips and a special recap introducing the drama.
