Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning — Standard Edition

After ten years, the Rurouni Kenshin film series finally reaches its grand finale! Why did Himura Battosai stop killing? Everything about Rurouni Kenshin is revealed here. The series' greatest masterpiece is born. At last, the truth hidden in the cross-shaped scar of Kenshin, feared as Battosai the Manslayer, comes to light!

The two-part final chapter depicts the beginning and ending of Rurouni Kenshin. Following Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, the eagerly awaited release of Rurouni Kenshin: The Beginning arrives. The Final depicts the fateful battle with Enishi, the most terrifying and formidable enemy. Kenshin reveals the shocking truth that he was once married and killed his own wife with his own hands. The story then crosses time, moving from the Meiji era to the turmoil at the end of the shogunate in The Beginning. Kenshin was feared as Himura Battosai, the strongest, cold-blooded assassin. One night, a young woman he rescues, Tomoe Yukishiro, witnesses him killing. To keep her silent, he decides to keep her at his side. Later, to escape the shogunate's pursuers, he hides with Tomoe in a farming village. There, he begins questioning the justice of taking lives and discovers true happiness. What cruel ending awaits Kenshin? Why did he give up killing? The truth of the cross-shaped scar etched into his cheek is finally revealed.
