Ryoichi Ikegami Art Works pairs two large-format, full-color volumes devoted to men and women, totaling 288 pages. Scans of original manuscripts reproduce variations in paint and penwork, with artwork from Crying Freeman, Sanctuary, Heat and other series.
The men's volume moves through dramatic heroes, young protagonists, childhood and historical or larger-than-life figures. The women's volume covers heroines in drama, girls, characters from classic Japanese literature, fantastical figures and a gallery of mysterious women.
Highlights include illustrations drawn for the English edition of Crying Freeman and original-manuscript reproductions of Koroshiyadomo, previously uncollected in book form. A special interview with collaborator Buronson and a message from Ikegami accompany the artwork. Published by Genkosha, this is a Japanese-language two-book set.
