The Prince of Tennis Anime

Original creator Takeshi Konomi serves as executive producer and personally writes and composes every song in the film. The Tenipuri All-Stars appear together in a release fans have been waiting for. Everything defies convention and brings surprises: the excitement never stops in this new theatrical Prince of Tennis! Ryoma's 3D CG model is constructed with respect for the original manga's look. The familiar voice cast reunites, joined by an impressive guest cast, and Konomi's songs each show a different appeal. Breaking with film-industry convention, the feature comes in two versions, Decide and Glory.

Three days after winning the fierce national-tournament final, Ryoma Echizen travels alone to the United States to train and reach new heights. Immediately after arriving in Los Angeles, he finds his classmate Sakuno Ryuzaki, there on a family trip, being harassed by a gang. A ball he hits to save her somehow sends both Ryoma and Sakuno back in time! They arrive in the era when Ryoma's father, Nanjiro Echizen, is still playing professionally. Ryoma begins to uncover the mystery behind Samurai Nanjiro's retirement, but what will he discover?

The two-disc standard edition contains both eighty-nine-minute versions, Decide and Glory, for 178 minutes of feature footage in total. Disc one contains Decide, audio commentary by Junko Minagawa as Ryoma, Takashi Matsuyama as Nanjiro, Ryotaro Okiayu as Kunimitsu Tezuka and director Hiroshi Kojina, the Decide pre-screening theatrical announcement, and the Decide and Glory Theater Tenifes Petit programs. Disc two contains Glory, commentary by the same participants, the Glory pre-screening announcement, and the Glory and Decide Theater Tenifes Petit programs.

Approximately five minutes of feature scenes differ between Decide and Glory. The commentary differs only for those corresponding scenes; its remaining content is the same in both versions. Main feature audio is Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, with DTS-HD Master Audio stereo commentary. Japanese subtitles are listed for this edition by Amazon; their precise scope is not specified.
