Ryota-H's first artbook pairs a gallery of original and licensed illustrations with an extended look at how a finished image is built. Newly drawn cover and opening illustrations accompany the selection, and the artist supplies commentary on every work.
The HI ALICE making-of feature follows the process from initial rough ideas and colour studies through clean linework, separated colour areas, detailed rendering and background work. Finishing adjustments complete the sequence. A studio feature and interview connect those practical stages with the artist's working environment.
Ryota-H's experience includes several years as an animator at GAINAX before freelance illustration and manga work. His projects include King Hassan and Napoleon character designs for Fate/Grand Order, character art for Revolve8 and work connected with Rage of Bahamut: Twin Heads and Lord of Vermilion. The book brings his personal and commissioned output into the same Japanese-language reference volume.
