Samurai 7 Anniversary Blu-ray BOX

Celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Samurai 7's television adaptation with the complete 26-episode 2004 anime on Blu-ray.

Retaining the original work's rich world and characters, it rebuilds the setting with science-fiction elements and a mechanized civilization. Farmers hire Kambei and six other samurai in exchange for rice. Their struggle against the giant mechanical bandits known as Nobuseri provides a spectacle unique to animation.

All 26 episodes are reproduced in the same HD picture and 5.1 audio as the original masters. Earlier DVD extras, including Komachi Dayori, Okara Kansatsuki and the creditless opening and ending, are also presented in HD. Character designer Takuhito Kusanagi supplies new artwork for the special outer case, and a booklet has been re-edited specifically for this package. Komachi Dayori and Okara Kansatsuki appear with the episodes, while disc 4 contains the creditless opening UNLIMITED, ending Fuhen and the overseas promotional video.

Masaki Terasoma plays Kambei, Kong Kuwata plays Kikuchiyo, Romi Park plays Katsushiro, Tetsu Inada plays Gorobei, Junji Inukai plays Heihachi, Toru Kusano plays Shichiroji and Shinichiro Miki plays Kyuzo. Directed by Toshifumi Takizawa, the series features composition by Atsuhiro Tomioka, mechanical design by Makoto Kobayashi and music by Kaoru Wada and Eitetsu Hayashi.
