SB19 Wakas at Simula marks a turning point for the Filipino pop group, closing one era while opening another. Their second Japanese release captures that step forward through collaborations and a broad range of musical styles.
Emoji joins SB19 with C-pop star JOLIN, while Toyfriend features Japanese boy group BE:FIRST. The R&B-rich Memories contrasts with the hip-hop approach of Everblack, and the title song Wakas carries the emotional intensity of the new material. Re-recordings from the 2021 EP Pagsibol reflect the experience each member has gained since those songs first appeared.
The Japanese standard edition spans two CDs with lyrics and translations. Its programme includes the newer songs, the revisited Pagsibol recordings and a second disc containing favourites such as GENTO and DAM, followed by concert versions of Quit and Wakas.
