Scar on the Praeter Volume 4

Divine beasts: a story of passionate bonds.

Each volume includes lavish extras such as a sleeve newly illustrated by animation studio GoHands, cast audio commentary and a PlayPic card. This is a release for PROJECT SCARD fans to see.

As long as we have friends, our youth continues. We run down the same road. And we become a family.

Tokyo: the Akatsuki Special Ward. The city, abandoned by the state and left lawless, is protected by those who bear tattoos sealing gods within them: the Scard. Helios, Artemis and the Public Security Special Service face many hardships, overcoming them even as they clash with one another. Before long, the bonds connecting them change from hatred and anger into trust. Scar on the Praeter tells the story of how they become comrades who can entrust their backs to one another.

Introduction Tokyo: the Akatsuki Special Ward. Administrative authority over the site of a newly planned national special economic zone was transferred to the major corporation Sakishima Holdings. Rival companies plotted over interests such as tax reductions applicable only within the ward, leading to a major riot known as the Akatsuki Conflict. Administration collapsed, Sakishima Holdings was dismantled, and the ward became an unmanaged region beyond the reach of national governance. There were men who protected this lawless city. People bearing Divine Tattoos, tattoos that seal the power of raging divine beasts, are known as Scard. Each has a unique special ability and defensive power capable of neutralising every attack: bullets shatter before reaching their bodies, and swords break. Using their tattoo powers, Helios, which protects the city, Artemis, which protects its organisation, and the Public Security Special Service, which protects order, become new forces established in the Akatsuki Special Ward. Though low-level conflict continues daily, they remain committed to their own justice. This is a story of their ordinary daily lives amid upheaval.
