Ultraman Movies

Imagination, romance and friendship. Shin Ultraman brings its giant-scale entertainment and the human drama woven by its characters into the home.

Giant unknown creatures known as Kaiju appear one after another, and their presence becomes an everyday occurrence in Japan. Conventional weapons are completely ineffective. With its resources stretched to their limits, the Japanese government gathers specialists in Kaiju countermeasures and establishes the Kaiju Special Countermeasures Unit, known as Katokutai.

Team leader Kimio Tamura, operations planning officer Shinji Kaminaga, unparticle physicist Akihisa Taki and general biologist Yumi Funaberi are selected to carry out its missions.

As the threat from the Kaiju draws near, a silver giant suddenly appears from beyond the atmosphere. Analyst Hiroko Asami is newly assigned to Katokutai to deal with the giant and partners with Kaminaga. Her report reads: “Ultraman (tentative name), identity unknown.”

Supplementary material brings together promotional footage and recordings from the film’s public events.

The special edition also opens a window onto the production through behind-the-scenes footage and visual-effects features, alongside the complete Shin Ultra Fight programme. Its illustrated presentation includes an outer case and a booklet.
