Six Lying University Students Deluxe Edition Blu-ray + DVD

Six Lying University Students turns a final job interview into a locked-room mystery where cooperation gives way to suspicion. Directed by Yuichi Sato and adapted from Akinari Asakura's novel, the 2024 Japanese film stars Minami Hamabe, Eiji Akaso, Hayato Sano, Mizuki Yamashita, Yuki Kura and Sho Nishigaki as six applicants whose carefully prepared public faces begin to unravel.

The prestigious entertainment company Spiralinks asks its six finalists to build a team and prepare for a group discussion a month later. Believing that all six could earn a position, they work together and arrive ready to succeed. Then the company changes the task: only one applicant will be hired, and the candidates must decide who it should be. Former teammates become rivals for a single place.

Six suspicious envelopes appear in the meeting room, escalating the tension. One accuses a candidate of murder, and further revelations expose the secrets behind each applicant's polished image. As accusations unsettle every alliance, the question becomes not only who is lying, but who planted the envelopes and what that person hopes to achieve.

The deluxe edition includes the 113-minute feature on Blu-ray with a commentary by all six principal cast members. A separate DVD contains the making-of documentary, recorded premiere and opening-day appearances, a pre-release talk show, a success-celebration appearance, the collaboration special with Ryokuoushoku Shakai, previously unreleased discussion from the mystery-analysis special, a commentary greeting and a selection of trailers and promotional footage. A special booklet and slipcase accompany the two discs.

The feature offers Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, Japanese audio description in DTS-HD Master Audio stereo and the cast commentary in DTS-HD Master Audio stereo. Japanese accessibility subtitles are included. The Blu-ray is region-free, while the extras DVD is Region 2.
