Solitary Gourmet TV Series

Since its quiet late-night debut in January 2012, Solitary Gourmet has won devoted viewers with appetising food, Goro’s hearty enjoyment of each meal and his candid inner thoughts. Following Season 9 in 2021, the series returned in 2022 for a tenth season that also marked its tenth anniversary, fittingly beginning in October.

This time, a giant sign leads Goro to an everyday neighbourhood eatery; an affluent Tokyo residential district offers the feeling of travelling abroad through another food culture; and a restaurant chosen at lightning speed captures his appetite with lavish seafood. One remarkable place after another serves dishes that satisfy both his stomach and his heart. Which towns and delicious discoveries await him, and who will he unexpectedly encounter along the way?

Goro Inogashira runs an imported-goods business. During his work visits, he casually drops into places to eat and freely orders whatever takes his fancy. This food-focused drama savours those blissful moments of enjoying a meal exactly as he wishes.

The box also brings together the 2021 and 2022 New Year’s Eve special dramas. Behind-the-scenes material follows the making of the tenth season and offers a fixed-camera look at the 2022 New Year’s Eve special. Further extras revisit the very first episode through an audio commentary, collect memorable Season 10 lines and include promotional spots. The accompanying Season 10 book adds another way to revisit Goro’s culinary discoveries.
