Strawberry Moon: Yomei Hantoshi no Koi Blu-ray

Ami Toma and Jun Saito star in Strawberry Moon: Yomei Hantoshi no Koi, a romantic drama adapted from Nao Akutagawa's novel. Directed by Mai Sakai, with a screenplay by Yoshikazu Okada and music by Harumi Fuuki, the film follows two young people whose brief time together leaves a lasting mark. ORANGE RANGE performs the theme song, "Towa no Hikari."

Frail since childhood, Moe Sakurai has been unable to attend school and has grown up without friends, spending her days at home with her caring parents. Her secret wish is to see June's full moon, the Strawberry Moon, on her birthday with someone she loves. According to the story she cherishes, two people who share that sight will be bound together forever. In the winter when she is fifteen, however, Moe learns that she has only six months to live. On the way home from the hospital, while her family struggles with the news, she spots the boy she believes is her destined partner and resolves to start high school.

Arriving late on the day of the entrance ceremony, Moe finds that same boy, Hinata Sato, alone in the classroom. She declares her feelings despite their having only just met and pursues him with a determination that soon brings them together. As their relationship deepens, they finally fulfill her dream of watching the Strawberry Moon on her birthday, June 4. After that day, Moe disappears from Hinata's life and cannot be reached. Thirteen years later, the truth about her finally finds its way to him.

The supporting cast includes Yosuke Sugino, Ayami Nakajo, Anji Ikehata, Kodai Kurosaki, Kanato Yoshizawa, Kentaro Ito, Yuki Izumisawa, Yuina Kuroshima, Shoko Ikezu, Jun Hashimoto, Rena Tanaka and Yusuke Santa Maria. Alongside the 127-minute feature, the Blu-ray contains "Tsukiakari no Mukogawa: Making of Strawberry Moon," a collection of event footage and the complete special cast discussion. A booklet is enclosed.
