Super Dimension Fortress Macross Package Art Collection gathers more than 100 model-kit illustrations, including work by Yoshiyuki Takani and Artmic. High-definition reproductions bring out the brushwork, shading and weathering of Valkyries, Destroids and Regults, while preserved paintings and unused artwork reveal a wider history of the package designs.

Images of the model boxes appear alongside surviving mecha design drawings and explanatory material. Interviews with SDF-1 Macross designer Kazutaka Miyatake and VF-1 Valkyrie designer Shoji Kawamori are joined by a conversation between Miyatake and Takani, connecting the painted images with their creators' perspectives.
