Super Electromagnetic Robot Combattler V Blu-ray Box

Celebrate the fiftieth broadcast anniversary with all 54episodes of Combattler V in the eagerly awaited Blu-ray box, featuring an HD remaster scanned from the negatives. Its ending theme, recalling a height of 57meters and weight of 550tonnes, is one generations of viewers will remember humming. With the cry of Let's Combine, the five Battle Machines can form Combattler V only when the five pilots' hearts become one.

Tadao Nagahama's dramatic super robot anime gives emotional depth to both Hyoma Aoi and his four companions and to the Campbellian enemy camp. Alongside its robot-action thrills, it communicates the horrors of war and the importance of trusting one another. General Garuda was a pioneering handsome anime character: even as an enemy, his beauty and tragic fate captivated many girls of the time. Heroine Chizuru Nanbara likewise captured the hearts of boys. Her striking presence made her an iconic anime heroine, and she retains a devoted following today.

The Campbellians, hiding beneath Earth since prehistoric times, begin their invasion. Having foreseen the danger, Dr. Nanbara builds the giant robot Combattler V, which combines using super electromagnetic power. He recruits four young people from across Japan and forms the Battle Team with his granddaughter Chizuru.

Dr. Nanbara dies during the struggle against the Slave Beasts, leaving Dr. Yotsuya to command the team. The tragedy of General Garuda unfolds, followed by the arrival of new enemies: the Magma Beasts and Empress Janera. Hyoma and his companions continue fighting until peace returns to Earth.
