The Blue Wolves of Mibu Vol.1 Limited Edition Blu-ray Box follows a kind-hearted boy into the dangerous world of the warriors who will become the Shinsengumi. Based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda's manga, the historical anime places youthful determination and competing ideas of justice against the upheaval of late-Edo Kyoto.

The arrival of the Black Ships has helped set the country in turmoil. In a time when money, land and even lives can be taken unjustly, thirteen-year-old Nio encounters Toshizo Hijikata and Soji Okita of the Mibu Roshi Corps, known as the Miburo. These men protect Kyoto according to their own convictions. Inspired by their example, Nio longs to grow stronger and change the world around him, and an ordinary boy's future begins to shift towards a life in which his ideals may cost him everything.

Shuichiro Umeda voices Nio, alongside Chiaki Kobayashi as Hajime Saito, Shun Horie as Taro Tanaka, Yohei Azakami as Toshizo Hijikata and Kensho Ono as Soji Okita. Ryota Takeuchi plays Kamo Serizawa and Tomokazu Sugita plays Isami Kondo. MAHO FILM produces the animation.

This first box collects episodes 1-12 across three Blu-ray discs, accompanied by an original drama CD, a booklet and an illustrated outer slipcase. Video supplements include the opening and ending sequences without credits. The programme runs approximately 285 minutes, with Japanese Linear PCM audio and no subtitles. The Blu-ray discs are region-free.
