The Executioner and Her Way of Life Part 1 First Press Blu-ray

The Lost Ones once brought great disasters to the world, and Executioners kill them before their powers can run wild. This new adventure follows two girls on opposing sides: Menou, an Executioner who strives to be pure, righteous and strong for the world’s sake, and Akari, an innocent Lost One with a special ability. What ending awaits them at their journey’s destination?

The Executioner and Her Way of Life won the grand prize at the eleventh GA Bunko Awards, whose winners were announced in 2019, becoming the first grand-prize winner in seven years since Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? A manga adaptation of this much-discussed work is also serialised in Young Gangan. Its intricately constructed, richly developed world, lively conversations between appealing characters and dramatic classic fantasy with powerful battle scenes now come to television anime in beautiful images.

The Lost Ones came from Japan and once brought terrible catastrophes to this world. Because those disasters were severe enough to destroy the world, they were declared taboo and had to be executed in secret. Menou makes her living executing Lost Ones. One day, she meets a Japanese girl named Akari. She attempts to carry out her usual mission, but Akari’s particular ability causes her to fail.

To ensure Akari’s execution, Menou takes her towards the cathedral in Garm, where a ritual site is said to be capable of destroying any person from another world. Watching Akari enjoy the journey innocently, unaware that she is travelling to be killed, something begins to change within Menou. This is the story of one girl’s journey to kill another.

The first press edition includes a new illustrated slipcase, an original short novel by Mato Sato, bonus recordings and a special booklet. Video extras include web previews and textless opening and ending sequences.
