The Genga Art of Doraemon invites readers to study Fujiko F. Fujio's drawings as individual artworks. More than 130 colour and monochrome originals are enlarged from photographs taken at twice the resolution normally used for printing, revealing ink tones, pen strokes, corrections and traces of pencil across seven visual themes.
Mari Hashimoto helped select the images and contributes seven essays examining the drawings through Japanese art, while Naoki Urasawa and Shintaro Mugiwara discuss Doraemon's drawing style. A separate booklet reproduces every page of Moving to a Ghost Castle at original manuscript size. Published by Shogakukan, the 232-page volume includes full English translations and a presentation case decorated with gold and transparent foil.
