The Kingdom Seasons I–II and Exodus Complete Blu-ray Box

The legendary horror series became a social phenomenon in Denmark, where its audience share exceeded 50 percent. Now the door to the legend opens again, bringing back an astonishing, bizarre and utterly startling viewing experience.

Set in the vast Danish hospital known as the Kingdom, the first two seasons drew viewers into the madness of their characters and their absurd yet strangely compelling episodes. The series inspired an American remake after Stephen King fell in love with it and, alongside Twin Peaks, became a horror classic with devoted fans around the world.

The Kingdom Exodus revives the legendary series that shook audiences worldwide in the 1990s, returning a quarter of a century later. At the immense hospital, inexplicable incidents unfold and a mysterious voice offers guidance. Can the world be saved from destruction?

Following the latest digital restoration of the first two seasons and the Japanese theatrical presentation of those seasons and Exodus in July 2023, the complete series arrives in this long-awaited Blu-ray edition.

In The Kingdom I, the huge Copenhagen hospital stands on the site of an old bleaching pond. Helmer, a Swedish doctor who dislikes the Danes, arrives as the head of neurosurgery. Mogge, the hospital director's son, neglects his work while becoming infatuated with an attractive nurse. His father, Moesgaard, concentrates on morning breathing exercises and similarly forgets the patients. Mrs Drusse enjoys feigning illness to enter the hospital and organise spiritualist meetings. One day she hears a girl crying in the lift and begins searching for the source of the terribly sorrowful voice.

In The Kingdom II, Mrs Drusse has an accident immediately after being discharged and returns to the Kingdom. Judith's baby, Little Brother, possesses a body far beyond that of a newborn and such extraordinary intelligence that he starts speaking straight after birth. Meanwhile, Helmer returns from Haiti and attempts to poison Krogshoj with a potion obtained there, to silence him after he discovers evidence of Helmer's medical error involving a girl named Mona. Finally, Little Brother's father, Kruger, appears and reveals the child's secret.

In The Kingdom Exodus, sleepwalker Karen is led to the enormous Copenhagen hospital by a mysterious voice calling for help. She joins forces with hospital porter Bulder and heart surgeon Judith to solve its many inexplicable incidents, only to face a counterattack from demonic forces. Meanwhile, newly arrived Swedish doctor Helmer Junior begins investigating the secrets of his late father, Stig Helmer.
