Web ドラマ 舞妓さんちのまかないさん Blu-ray BOX
The long-awaited home-video release of The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House arrives.
Dreaming of becoming a maiko in Gion, Kiyo leaves her hometown of Aomori with her best friend Sumire and comes to Kyoto. Living in a yakata, the house shared by the maiko, she devotes herself to practising the drum and dance. But she is told that she is not suited to becoming a maiko and should return to Aomori.
Kiyo is disheartened. Then, one day, the chicken-and-egg rice bowl she cooks for everyone is so well received that she begins working in the house as its makanai-san, preparing the daily meals.
Meanwhile, Sumire displays a gift for Kyoto dance and makes a name for herself in Gion’s historic entertainment district as a once-in-a-century talent. In Gion, the delicious, beautiful everyday lives of a cook and a maiko begin.
Extras include a making-of documentary, the opening sequence without credits, and the teaser and main trailers. A special outer case and booklet accompany the release.
