The Solitary Gourmet Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

The Solitary Gourmet takes Goro Inogashira on an international food-filled road trip, bringing twelve years of the television series to its first theatrical feature. The imported-goods dealer is asked to visit France by Chiaki, the daughter of his former girlfriend Koyuki. In Paris, Chiaki's grandfather Ichiro asks him to rediscover a soup he remembers from childhood. Guided by only a few clues, Goro searches for its recipe and ingredients across France, South Korea, Nagasaki and Tokyo, meeting unexpected people and becoming entangled in events beyond a simple meal.

Yutaka Matsushige stars as Goro and directs, co-writing the screenplay with Yoshihiro Taguchi from the original work by Masayuki Kusumi and Jiro Taniguchi. Yuki Uchida plays island resident Shiho, Hayato Isomura the young Nakagawa who helps with the search, Anne plays Chiaki and Sansei Shiomi her grandfather Ichiro. Joe Odagiri appears as the owner of the Chinese ramen restaurant Sincerite, Takehiro Murata as Goro's colleague Takiyama, and Yoo Jae-myung makes a special appearance as a South Korean immigration officer. Kenichi Endo also joins the cast. The Cro-Magnons provide the theme song Kufuku to Ore.

The deluxe edition includes the 110-minute feature and a bonus Blu-ray containing production making-of footage, a promotional-video collection, and stage appearances from January 10 and January 19, 2025. Further extras are the 2024 television special following The Solitary Gourmet's journey overseas and its visit to a sought-after South Korean restaurant, plus all four Goro Inogashira's Days Off from Filming segments. A 12-page booklet includes an updated location-scouting diary, scene photographs and story information, and a weekly planner begins in April 2026.

The feature offers Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio in 5.1 and 2.0 channels, a Japanese accessible audio-description track in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0, and accessible Japanese subtitles.
