The Wings of Rean Blu-ray Box Special Edition

The power known as the Wings of Rean draws Aesap Suzuki into Byston Well, an otherworldly realm between sea and earth. There he meets Luxe Sakomizu, princess of Hojo, and becomes entangled in a conflict that crosses into the surface world. Insect-inspired Aura Battlers clash with modern weapons as their love and adventure unfold across the two realms. Yoshiyuki Tomino's fantasy combines spectacular mechanical action with the consequences of war and the encounters that connect generations.

The box contains all six episodes: Uninvited Guests, The King of Hojo, The Aura Power of the Surface Dwellers, The King's Scheme, Tokyo Bay and The Storm of Cherry Blossoms. Jun Fukuyama voices Aesap and Yu Shimamura voices Luxe, alongside Rikiya Koyama as Sakomizu, Dai Tsuchida as Rouri, Shingo Tanabe as Kanemoto, Yutaka Nakano as Amalgan, Marika Hayashi as Codour, Toru Okawa as Alex, Yutaka Shimaka as Machiavelli and Jun Karasawa as Toshiko. Tomino serves as original creator and chief director, with visual concepts by okama, character designs by Masashi Kudo, music by Yasuo Higuchi and Anna Tsuchiya's theme MY FATE.

Approximately 147 minutes of main animation and 45 minutes of extras are presented across two Blu-rays. A new opening sequence is directed by Tomino. Extras include his interview, a cross talk with Anna Tsuchiya, the aerial-filming documentary Tokyo Above 2006, the Orchestration Guide, the creditless ending, promotional footage, a theatrical announcement and Blu-ray commercials. The thirty-two-page booklet contains new staff interviews. Masashi Kudo and Tsuyoshi Yoshioka provide the illustrations for the double bookcase and inner jacket. Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio is included alongside Linear PCM stereo and some mono material, with no subtitles.
