TOKYO MER Sumida River Mission Blu-ray

A special drama celebrating the theatrical release! This time the setting is... the Sumida River!? The MER members take on one of Tokyo's great rivers. Rescue every patient from a runaway pleasure boat!

Half a year after TOKYO MER's formal approval, Kitami, played by Ryohei Suzuki, struggles to find a second doctor to replace Otowa, played by Kento Kaku, who is leaving the team to expand MER to designated cities nationwide. Some members want Hina, played by Ayami Nakajo, promoted, but Otowa insists she should pursue cardiovascular surgery. Hina also worries under the pressure of replacing him.

Then support doctor Aoto, played by Atsushi Ito, arrives. Like Otowa, he is a medical technical officer from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. On the surface he is dispatched as a second-doctor candidate, but the ministry has another motive...

A large water bus and pleasure boat collide on the Sumida River. The pleasure boat loses control and runs wild while carrying numerous injured people. The MER members rush to the scene but cannot even board because the vessels cannot come alongside. They then discover leaking fuel in the hull, threatening an explosion with many patients still aboard. Kitami and his team launch an unexpected operation to save those trapped—a truly life-threatening challenge.
