Tomoyasu Hotei 40th Anniversary Live Message from Budokan Regular Edition Blu-ray

All songs from Tomoyasu Hotei's fortieth-anniversary concerts, 40th ANNIVERSARY Live Message from Budokan, held at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan on January 30 and 31, 2021, are recorded in full. The first day, Todoke. Day One (Memories), focuses on songs from BOOWY, COMPLEX and the early part of his solo career. The second day, Todoke. Day Two (Adventures), focuses on the major hits that followed. Forty-four songs were performed across the two days.

The concerts were his first in approximately four hundred days because of the pandemic. Originally planned as the first fortieth-anniversary concerts with an audience, they were abruptly forced to take place without spectators following the declaration of a state of emergency. In the unusual setting of an empty auditorium, Hotei's full-force performances for fans watching through live streams and live-viewing screenings are moving. The passionate acoustic sections midway through both shows are also essential viewing.
