Trillion Game: The Movie Deluxe Edition Blu-ray

Haru and Gaku have built a major company from nothing, but a trillion dollars remains their goal. Ren Meguro returns as Haru Tennoji, a charismatic risk-taker whose greatest weapon is an audacious bluff, opposite Hayato Sano as Manabu “Gaku” Taira, a gifted engineer whose quiet kindness contrasts with his partner’s confidence. Their next target is the world’s leading casino king, and their next venture is nothing less than Japan’s first casino resort.

The film continues the story of Riichiro Inagaki and Ryoichi Ikegami’s manga after the television drama’s rise from zero capital and no business plan. Hacking competitions, e-commerce, flowers, a host club, smartphone games, streaming and cashless payments became steps in their battle against Dragon Bank, culminating in its acquisition. Reunited two years later, the partners now command far greater resources as they resume their unfinished business roadmap. In the film’s setting, the opening created by casino-development legislation offers extraordinary possibilities and equally dangerous opponents. Negotiation, deception and temptation make it increasingly difficult to tell allies from enemies.

An original story supervised by Inagaki brings back Mio Imada as Kirika, Riko Fukumoto as Rinrin and Koji Kikkawa as Kedoin. The cast also includes Kosuke Suzuki, Terunosuke Takezai, Akari Akase, Yoshitaka Hara, Kenjiro Tsuda, Kavka Shishido, Seiichi Tanabe, Ryo Ishibashi and Jun Kunimura. Yoshiaki Murao directs from Daisuke Habara’s screenplay, with music by Hideakira Kimura and Snow Man’s “SBY” as the theme song.

The three-Blu-ray deluxe edition contains the 118-minute feature and 353 minutes of supplementary material. Ren Meguro and Hayato Sano’s full visual commentary adds their on-camera reactions and filming recollections to the commentary recording. Further features follow the shoot, collect the completion-screening appearance, pre-release event, opening-day appearance and success-celebration event, and include the TBS premium-night television special. Both parts of Trillion Game: The Ultimate Champion Showdown, HARU & GAKU: Promotion Document and a collection of spots complete the extras. A 24-page booklet accompanies the discs.

The feature has original Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, a Japanese audio-description track in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo and Japanese accessibility subtitles. The two supplementary discs use DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo.
