Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyoshi Blu-ray Box

“Would you like to fall in love with me before you die?” A hopeless teacher and a pessimistic high-school girl become the unlikely pairing in this romantic comedy built around the suspension-bridge effect.

A live-action adaptation of sora's hit manga serialized in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume, the series brings to the screen a work that had reached fifteen collected volumes and a total of three million copies in circulation. Its understated, surreal conversations and uniquely laid-back characters have won readers over. The frustrating romance between a teacher and a student who never cross the line of their relationship has struck a chord with many readers.

Jin Haiba is an unmotivated physics teacher who loves gambling and is constantly short of money, a thoroughly unreliable adult whose behaviour repeatedly pushes the limits of what a teacher should do. His students look down on him and call him Haijin, a nickname suggesting someone who has become a wreck. Mikoto Ochiai is an academically gifted high-school girl with a deeply negative outlook.

Heartbroken after being rejected, Mikoto is about to jump from the roof of her school when Haiba interrupts her. He has slipped out of class to come to the rooftop, and is so thoroughly disregarded by his students that even Mikoto, on the verge of taking her own life, feels sorry for him.

“Would you like to fall in love with me before you die?” Was Haijin's question a lie intended to stop her from jumping, or a sincere confession? Unable to tell from his behaviour, Mikoto steps back from suicide. Although she remains exasperated by his irresponsibility, she finds herself drawn to him. Haijin, meanwhile, starts following her around at every opportunity. “I'm the only one who's allowed to follow you around, high-school girl.”

The collection includes behind-the-scenes making-of footage, the premiere talk event, a creditless ending, promotional spots and three newly filmed Special Class features: Life, Money and Dreams; Elites and Failures; and The Trolley Problem. An enclosed colour booklet is filled with off-shot photographs. Specifications may change without notice.
