Urusei Yatsura Anime

But I still love my darling. Earth's most troublesome high-school boy, Ataru Moroboshi, meets Lum, a beautiful oni girl who descends from outer space. Everything begins with their encounter.

Urusei Yatsura, the striking debut work of Rumiko Takahashi, who continues to lead the field, returns as a television anime adapting carefully selected original stories across four cours to commemorate Shogakukan's centenary.

Hideya Takahashi and Yasuhiro Kimura, who directed JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, direct this series. Yuko Kakihara of Cells at Work! handles series composition, and Naoyuki Asano of Mr. Osomatsu and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! designs the characters. David production, the studio behind the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series and Fire Force, produces the animation. Hiroshi Kamiya and Sumire Uesaka play the extraordinary central couple, Ataru, known as Darling, and Lum.

Fearless, wholehearted in love and yet somehow bittersweet, Ataru and Lum's boy-meets-girl story becomes a romantic comedy enlivened by characters gathering from across the galaxy. In a time when people struggle to look one another in the eye and say 'I love you,' their gorgeous, tough and crazy youth comes racing to life.

This limited-production first box contains episodes one through eleven on three Blu-rays, together with a bonus CD of Lum's Love Song covered by Lum, voiced by Sumire Uesaka. It comes with an illustration card newly drawn by original creator Rumiko Takahashi, a special box newly illustrated by character designer Naoyuki Asano, the Tomobiki Town Newspaper and a special booklet.

The booklet includes a discussion between Rumiko Takahashi, Hideya Takahashi and Yasuhiro Kimura; newly shot photographs and a discussion featuring Toshio Furukawa, Fumi Hirano, Hiroshi Kamiya and Sumire Uesaka; a solo interview with character designer Naoyuki Asano; and scenes specially selected by the directors, among other features. Episodes one and ten include audio commentary by Hiroshi Kamiya, Sumire Uesaka, Toshio Furukawa and Fumi Hirano. Video extras include creditless opening and ending sequences.

Hiroshi Kamiya voices Ataru, Sumire Uesaka voices Lum, Maaya Uchida voices Shinobu, Mamoru Miyano voices Shutaro Mendo, Wataru Takagi voices Cherry, Miyuki Sawashiro voices Sakura and Kana Hanazawa voices Ran. Katsuyuki Konishi voices Rei, Saori Hayami voices Oyuki, Shizuka Ishigami voices Benten, Nana Mizuki voices Princess Kurama, Kenta Miyake voices Onsen-Mark, Takahiro Sakurai voices Tsubame Ozuno and Marina Inoue voices Ryoko Mendo.
