Water Polo Yankees brings together school rebels and competitive water polo in a Japanese coming-of-age ensemble drama. Yuto Nakajima leads a cast that includes Kento Yamazaki, Yuya Takaki, Sakurako Ohara, Yudai Chiba, Shotaro Mamiya, Taishi Nakagawa, Ryo Yoshizawa and Yuma Yamoto. You Yokoyama appears as a legendary older schoolmate, alongside Yua Shinkawa, Miwako Kakei, Hinako Sano, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Kanna Hashimoto, Aya Omasa, Shoko Ikezu, Sarutoki Minagawa, Kana Kurashina, Yukiya Kitamura and Leo Morimoto.
All ten episodes are presented in re-edited complete versions incorporating previously unseen scenes. The four-disc set also includes an extensive behind-the-scenes making-of programme, interviews with Nakajima, Yamazaki, Takaki and Ohara, a discussion with the seven Kasu High water polo club members, the production announcement and trailers. Three spin-off drama episodes feature Chiba, Nakagawa and Yoshizawa. Episode one has an additional commentary featuring Ohara, Chiba, Nakagawa, Yoshizawa and producer Fujino. A fifty-four-page booklet styled after the Teppen Note completes the set.
