This film portrays, with freshness and poignancy, a love that should never have crossed paths: a high-school boy who hides that he is gay, and a high-school girl who hides her fondness for boys' love stories. The bonus DVD includes valuable behind-the-scenes footage from the set, a specially recorded roundtable discussion and cast interviews. Fuju Kamio and Anna Yamada, two of the most sought-after young actors, give strong performances, delicately expressing complicated feelings that cannot simply be called love and the struggle to live as oneself.

The original work attracted attention when it was adapted as a television drama, Fujoshi, Ukkari Gay ni Kokuru, in NHK General's Yoru Drama slot from April to June 2019. The Japanese audio description guide is narrated by popular voice actor Kensho Ono, who also voiced Fahrenheit in that television adaptation.

Story High-school student Jun Ando lives each day hiding the fact that he is gay. One day at a bookshop, he encounters his classmate Sae Miura buying a so-called BL manga, a story about love between men. Sae, who keeps her fondness for BL secret, asks Jun not to tell anyone. What she does not yet know is that the Jun standing before her is gay.

Jun has a male lover, Makoto, who has a wife and child. Yet the encounter in the bookshop brings Jun and Sae rapidly closer. They go on double dates with her friends and visit an amusement park with classmates. As their bond grows, Sae confesses her feelings to him. “Could I also have a ‘normal’ relationship with a woman, and live a ‘normal’ life?” As though staking everything on a slender hope, Jun accepts Sae's confession and begins dating her.
