Story The heroine is Kurumi Mashiba, played by Haruna Kawaguchi, a woman who dresses to impress. She works in public relations for el Arco Iris — Spanish for “rainbow” — an interior-design company whose online sales are popular with young people. Her work includes press releases, email newsletters, media enquiries, advertising and publicity. Shogo Hayama, played by Osamu Mukai, the president who founded el Arco Iris, also thinks highly of her. Wanting to contribute to the company, she started social-media accounts that also serve as publicity. With nearly 100,000 followers, she is active as an influencer. For the company, her followers and the president for whom she secretly has feelings, she spends her days striving beyond her limits to remain someone others admire. But absorbed in her daily workload, Mashiba forgets to renew her apartment contract and is forced to move out. The person who helps her is Koko Saotome, played by Yui Natsukawa, a popular food stylist and regular customer she befriended while working at a cafe. She is Mashiba's only female friend, whom Mashiba affectionately regards as an older sister. Through Koko's help, Mashiba arrives at Koko's apartment in a prime Omotesando location. She imagines elegant solitude in a luxury apartment — only to discover a chaotic collection of people who overturn her preconceptions. There is Shun Fujino, played by Ryusei Yokohama, a chef who freely opens his food-truck bar only when he feels like it. A minimalist pursuing a simple life, he moves entirely at his own pace. His second cousin Haruto Terai, played by Ryuhei Maruyama, is from Kansai and takes clients' troubles as an online counsellor. Ayaka Hase, played by Anne Nakamura, is an aspiring artist making contemporary paintings and objects while working part-time delivering for an upscale local supermarket. These three, together with Mashiba and Koko, begin sharing a home: five people with no prior connection, differing ages and very different occupations.
