ZIPANG OPERA ZIPANGRIMM Standard Edition CD + Blu-ray
ZIPANG OPERA/「ZIPANGRIMM」【通常盤】
ZIPANG OPERA's third EP, ZIPANGRIMM, carries the power of a story that bears tragedy and turns loneliness into shared feeling. It includes Rainy Heart, the ending theme for the MBS/TBS Dramaism series Shitsuren Karuta.
This emotional song traces the lingering aftermath of a separation between two people whose kindness led them to misunderstand each other, and their resolve to move forward while holding on to those memories. Rain becomes an image for the growing distance between them and the feelings that refuse to disappear. Having struggled to face each other, they arrive at a new step beyond their parting. Rather than denying the past, each begins to walk through life at their own pace, keeping it close as a treasured memory.
Softly blurred guitar and piano are layered over a supple mid-tempo beat, giving the sound a touch of neo-soul. A restrained groove and an arrangement that leaves room to breathe bring out the regret still held deep inside and the words that went unsaid, letting a faint light emerge through the sadness. The result is a song in which subtle shades of feeling come beautifully to the surface.
