Togashi's natural speed has always secured him friends and a place to belong. Transfer student Komiya runs for a different reason: to escape a painful reality. When Togashi teaches him how to sprint, their after-school practice creates a bond somewhere between friendship and rivalry. Years later, Togashi is a celebrated runner haunted by the need to keep winning, and Komiya returns as a top sprinter in his own right.

Kenji Iwaisawa directs this adaptation of Uoto's debut manga, with Tori Matsuzaka and Shota Sometani voicing the two runners. Hiroaki Tsutsumi's music and Official Hige Dandism's theme song "Rashisa" accompany a story about talent, effort and the emotional cost of measuring a life in hundredths of a second.

The special edition includes the retouched home-video version of the film, a documentary covering the production and live-action rotoscope shoots, stage greetings from August 27, September 19 and September 30, 2025, cast conversations, a director interview, filming footage, six short deleted cuts, a pilot film and trailers. A six-person staff commentary features Iwaisawa, character designer Keisuke Kojima, art director Keikan Yamaguchi, composer Tsutsumi, sound designer Sho Okawara and producer Yusuke Terada. Packaging includes a box illustrated by Uoto, Kojima's digipak artwork, a visual booklet with an Iwaisawa-Kojima conversation, and five logo stickers inspired by the manga covers.
