9-nine- Animation

“I will repeat it—as many times as it takes.” The television adaptation of 9-nine- Ruler’s Crown, which began airing in July 2025, brings the latest title from Palette, the popular PC-game brand behind Mashiroiro Symphony, to animation with an accomplished creative team and cast. Chihiro Yonekura, who performed the original game’s theme song, sings the anime’s specially written ending theme, Pale Blaze.

Shiromitsugawa is an ordinary city with little to distinguish it beyond being a university town. Its efforts to attract tourists have repeatedly fallen flat, until an unexpected event draws wider attention. When a sacred relic at the Hakuda Tsukumo Shrine breaks, Kakeru Niimi’s peaceful student life changes completely. Decorative objects called Artifacts flow into the city from a parallel world, granting extraordinary powers to their owners. Boys and girls awaken to these abilities, and a seemingly unremarkable student in an equally unremarkable town becomes entangled in the extraordinary destinies their actions set in motion.

Volume 2 contains episodes 8–13, promotional videos and the creditless opening and ending. Original character designer Tsubasu Izumi supplies new artwork of Haruka Kousaka and Noa Yuki for the reversible jacket, drawn specifically for this edition.
