Starring Kaito Takahashi! An impassioned youth ensemble drama about high school students who raced through Shibuya in 1995, resisting the structures adults had built into society while protecting what mattered to them.

95, pronounced Kyugo, is a serial drama celebrating TV Tokyo's 60th anniversary. The original is the powerful youth novel that Kazumasa Hayami wrote with the greatest intensity as his first work after winning the 68th Mystery Writers of Japan Award for Innocent Days. It adapts the passionate story of teenagers who fought adult society's structures and protected their precious things while racing headlong through Shibuya in 1995.

Kaito Takahashi makes both his first appearance and his first leading performance in a TV Tokyo drama. Alongside his work in King & Prince, he is expanding his acting career, with films released in succession and this drama marking his third consecutive series lead. He plays Akihisa Hiroshige, known as Q, a high school student who lived with all his energy through 1995. In a year of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the subway sarin attack, he feels firsthand that people will die someday, wonders what it means to live, and feels that the world might someday end. Takahashi passionately portrays a teenager simply determined to live and share his youth with his companions.

Akihisa Hiroshige, who works for a karaoke company, is being interviewed about thirty years of Japan's music industry. Questions about his high school days leave him unsettled. The incident twenty-nine years earlier that changed his life brings back vivid memories of an era he had kept sealed away.

On March 20, 1995, Akihisa (Kaito Takahashi), an excellent, well-behaved high school student, confronts death because of the subway sarin attack and is shaken. Is the world really going to end? Overwhelmed by feelings he cannot describe, he is suddenly summoned by his charismatic classmate Shotaro Suzuki (Taishi Nakagawa), whom he has never spoken to before. Are you satisfied just drifting into adulthood and drifting into death? His smoldering feelings are stirred, and he is forced into the team of companions Marco (Kanata Hosoda), Leo (Atsuhiro Inukai) and Doyon (Mandy Sekiguchi). Amid this, his gaze meets that of Seira Kishi (Honoka Matsumoto), a girl with a mysterious charm. This is the passionate youth story of boys who followed their hearts through the chaos and fever of 1995, sometimes straying from the right path!

Kazumasa Hayami's 95, published by Kadokawa Bunko, is the original work. Kohei Kiyasu writes, Hideo Jojo directs and Gary Ashiya composes. King & Prince performs moooove!! for Universal Music. Noboru Morita of TV Tokyo is chief producer; Yuta Kurachi of TV Tokyo and Yuki Seike of Fine Entertainment produce.
