A Couple of Cuckoos Animation

Life and love become hopelessly intertwined! The hugely popular romantic comedy serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine returns for its long-awaited second television anime season, with its complicated four-sided romance developing into a five-sided relationship.

The original manga comes from the creator of Yankee-kun and Megane-chan and Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. The first anime season aired in 2022, attracting attention with two consecutive broadcast seasons of romantic drama involving its appealing characters. The second season began in July 2025, introducing a new character and making its tangled romance even more complicated.

Nagi Umino and Erika Amano were born on the same day and accidentally switched as babies. Raised respectively as the son of a family running a diner and the daughter of a hotel magnate, they become engaged at the encouragement of both their birth and adoptive parents. Their life together under one roof also draws in Nagi's classmate Hiro Segawa and Sachi Umino, who follows her older brother.

A fiancee, the girl he has feelings for and a sister who is not related to him by blood: Nagi is already at the centre of an awkward four-sided relationship. Now his childhood friend and first love, Ai Mochizuki, appears before him for the first time in ten years! Life and love collide in this five-sided romantic comedy that began with two babies switched at birth. This summer, destiny begins moving even more dramatically.

Video extras include the creditless opening, web previews and a lyric video for Ai Mochizuki's Roden, featuring the same content released on YouTube.

The original first-production package featured a newly illustrated box, a special digipak, a special booklet containing design materials and an art photo using the same illustration as the box. These limited bonuses depend on remaining first-production stock and are not guaranteed.
