Absolute Beginners Original Soundtrack presents all 22 tracks from the original double LP together on CD for the first time. The 1986 musical-style coming-of-age film was directed by Julien Temple, known for music videos and The Great Rock and Roll Swindle, and featured David Bowie, Ray Davies and Sade.
Bowie's three songs, including the title track, Ray Davies' Quiet Life, the longer-than-single version of The Style Council's Have You Ever Had It Blue?, and Sade's Killer Blow were recorded for the film rather than their artists' original studio albums. This two-CD release includes liner notes and translated lyrics.
