Acro Trip Blu-ray Box Vol. 2 continues Chizuko Date's unlikely journey from devoted magical-girl fan to an accomplice of evil. After meeting the town's defender, Berry Blossom, Chizuko wants nothing more than to see her heroine shine. Unfortunately, Fossa Magna's leader Chroma is such an ineffective opponent that their battles give Berry little opportunity to impress anyone.
Chizuko's answer is as sincere as it is misguided: a stronger villain might give her favourite magical girl the challenge she deserves. Her enthusiasm draws a shy admirer into the very organization opposing Berry Blossom, turning the familiar hero-versus-villain setup into a comedy about fandom and misplaced support. The adaptation of Yone Sawata's manga features Miku Ito as Chizuko, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Chroma, Inori Minase as Berry Blossom and Kengo Kawanishi as Mashirou.
This second box includes episodes 7-12, approximately 142 minutes of the series. Audio commentary accompanies the programme, while the video extras include promotional videos and an episode-12 visual commentary featuring Ito, Shimazaki, Minase and Kawanishi.
A 16-page booklet adds episode coverage, interviews with Minase, Kawanishi and the manga creator, character introductions and storyboards for Berry Blossom's transformation sequence. Five original-art cards and two foil cards accompany the two Blu-rays in an illustrated outer box with a matching inner jacket.
The episodes are presented in widescreen with Japanese Linear PCM 2.0 audio. The discs are region-free and do not include subtitles.
